Episode 39 - What is faith and why is it important?

Faith is the one thing that underpins all of the promises of God. Without faith we cannot know God and we cannot please God. We cannot know the fullness of God and all that He has for us without faith.

This podcast looks at various aspects of faith identifying what it is, what it is not and why faith is important.

Episode 38 - Reconciled to God

There are a number of reasons for why Jesus was sacrificed for us and His death had many effects and purposes. But the primary purpose was to reconcile man to God.

Jesus came so that man could be brought back to God and to the place of perfection as God originally made man when He created Adam & Eve. In Jesus Christ, God made reconciliation possible and provided man the way by which he could come back to God and be perfected once more.

When God created Adam & Eve they started out perfect. But now God has allowed man to exercise his own free will and choose to seek God's perfection through the process of reconciliation in Jesus Christ. It is now our choice, and it is the hope of God that we will choose His path.

Episode 37 - Jesus' Sacrifice for Us

One of the things it is important to understand is that Jesus came for the express purpose of dying so that we may be saved. His sacrifice for us was complete & total and in accord with the will of God. It was no accident but the definite plan & foreknowledge of God the Father that Jesus would be sacrificed so that we could have the chance at life.

Here we will look at what Jesus sacrificed to do this for us, why He made this sacrifice and how this sacrifice works for us so that we can take advantage of His great sacrifice.

Episode 36 - Trusting in God

Trust is inextricably linked into faith. One does not exist without the other.

Trust is based upon knowing that another is trustworthy and this is learned by evidence, either personally or from others who we know can be trusted.

Jesus Christ is trustworthy and has proven He can be trusted. The word of God is trustworthy and we can learn trust from His words.

Episode 35 - Learning Humility

If we are to come into the presence of God, we must learn humility.

The scripture tells us that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. It is only the humble who will enter the kingdom of God.

Episode 34 - The Mercy of God

God is a God of mercy. He has shown great mercy to all who come to Him, and in the same way we are expected to be merciful to other.

Mercy is a powerful thing. We see in the scriptures that mercy triumphs over judgement, and mercy overlooks many of the faults and failings in ourselves and others. We cannot be children of God without mercy being part of who we are. We receive mercy and we must be merciful for this is the nature of God.

Episode 33 - Salvation for All

God's salvation for man through Jesus Christ is available to all mankind. His salvation is not just for one special group of people but is available to everyone who calls on the name of Jesus Christ.

And there are two aspects to salvation. First, it is a destination...when we are saved and have arrived in the kingdom of God. But secondly, it is a journey. Salvation is a process that is working in us by the power of God's grace.

One of the things we as Christians are called to do is to be obedient to the word of God. Too many people want to seek God on their own terms. They want to have Him come to them according to their own will.

But it doesn't work that way. If we are to live with God we must come to Him on HIS terms, and that means we must be obedient to His word and His truth.

The starting point for every Christian when they come to God is repentance.

Repentance was so important in the Christian gospel that John the Baptist, the Apostles and Jesus Christ all began their respective ministries preahing, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

God's Grace is the only reason why we have the opportunity to escape the sins and defilements of this world.

His grace is a gift and without it we would be without hope.

As we walk with Christ, God's grace enables us by overlooking all of our failings and faults until we come into the image of Jesus Christ.
